Information Assurance Training
SSI can help customers with training in a broad range of information assurance (IA)
topics to prepare students for industry standard IA certification exams and compliance
with the Department of Defense IA Workforce Improvement Program requirements in

DOD 8570.01M Information Workforce Improvement Program
The DOD Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, implemented by DOD
8570.01M provides guidance and procedures for the training, certification, and management
of the DOD workforce conducting Information Assurance (IA) functions. The program’s
requirements apply to all personnel (Government and contractor) whose duties include
IA functions. The program specifies minimum commercial industry certifications required
based upon the IA job category assigned. DOD 8570 seeks to accomplish the following
objectives:
- Develop a DOD IA workforce with a common understanding of the concepts, principles, and applications of IA
- Establish baseline technical and management IA skills among personnel performing IA functions
- Provide warfighters qualified IA personnel
- Implement a formal IA workforce skill development and sustainment process
- Verify IA workforce knowledge and skills through standard certification testing
- Augment and expand knowledge and skills on a continuous basis
